Looking For Full Medical Aid? Try Our Health Booster

Most medical aid schemes work on the assumption that you are already ill. They will cover certain aspects of health care such as hospital fees, operations, and dentistry. But isn’t the most important thing to try and avoid getting ill to begin with?

At KeyHealth Medical, we offer a little something extra; something that means we can call our packages full medical aid. Say hello to our Health Booster program!

What is the Health Booster?

The Health Booster program is available on all of our medical aid options, whether it is the complete full medical aid package, or the smaller options we have available to our clients. It covers the areas of preventative care, illness detection, weight loss, and maternity. Whilst different aspects of it are dependent on pre-authorisation, and are based upon the health care package you have chosen, the Health Booster program offers something for everyone.

Our Preventative Care Measures

If you have a young child or a baby, or are expecting one soon, then you will definitely benefit from our full medical aid Health Booster program. We cover all immunisations for babies and young children up to the age of 6. The immunisations covered are those that are required by the Department of Health. This is a fantastic scheme, as it means you can relax in the knowledge that your child is as medically safe as you can make them.

If you are under the age of 18 or over the age of 60, or are classified as medically high risk, you are entitled to a flu vaccination once a year. It is advised that everyone of these ages gets the flu vaccinations, and the fact that it is part of our full medical aid Health Booster scheme just makes it all the better!

All beneficiaries of our full medical aid Health Booster program are entitled to tetanus and diphtheria, as and when they are needed. Those which are high risk or over the age of 60 are also entitled to the pneumococcal vaccination, which protects against infections caused by bacteria.

Early Detection Tests

Our full medical aid Health Booster scheme helps you to detect illness and other health issues at the start of their cycle. This way, you are able to catch a problem before it turns serious, and stand a better chance of fighting against it and curing it in a shorter period of time.

If you are over the age of 15, you are entitled to a pap smear once a year. This will involve medical professionals such as pathologists, gynaecologists, and GPs. Those in this age group are also entitled to a HIV/AIDs test with a pathologist. Under our full medical aid Health Booster scheme, those over the age of 40 will also be covered for mammograms (females) and prostate specific antigen (males).

All adults under our Health Booster scheme will be covered for a general health assessment once a year. This will measure your body mass index (BMI), blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar.

Weight Loss

A weight loss scheme is available to all adults who partake in our full medical aid Health Booster scheme, as long as your BMI is greater than 35. This weight loss program covers three lots of dietician consultations (once per week only), and three additional consultations with the dietician if weight loss has been proved after the first three weeks.

As well as this, you will be covered for one biokineticist consultation in order to work with you in creating a home exercise programme, and a further follow up consultation.

Maternity

The maternity part of our full medical aid Health Booster program is an essential ‘must have’ for all of those expecting mothers. The maternity scheme covers up to 12 antenatal visits with either the GP or gynaecologist, as well as a urine test in the form of a dipstick. You will also be covered for two pregnancy scans; one before the 24th week of pregnancy and one after.

Once your little one has been born, you will be covered for two visits to the paediatrician in the baby’s first year. Be safe in the knowledge that your baby is seeing a qualified professional, and that he or she (or they!) are nice and healthy.
