Easy-ER
Easy-ER is a first-of-its-kind KeyHealth initiative that offers all KeyHealth beneficiaries direct access to a hospital’s emergency room (ER) for medical treatment in emergency situations.
What is Easy-ER?
It’s emergency medical cover for an acute injury or illness that poses an immediate risk to a person’s life or long-term health and / or treatment for an unexpected sudden illness or injury.
The Easy-ER benefit does not include pharmacy or medical appliance claims, follow-up consultations, follow-up radiology or pathology tests.
What qualifies as an emergency?
Sport injuries
Playground accidents
Motor vehicle accidents
Dental injuries
(from a direct external blow to the mouth or face)
Easy-ER card for children
We understand that parents cannot be with their children 24/7. That’s why we created the Easy-ER card for children.
Our Easy-ER card for children means that, should your child experience an emergency, they can be taken to any ER and receive treatment without delay.
The Easy-ER card contains the child’s details and, when presented, confirms their Easy-ER benefits.
If the child doesn’t have their Easy-ER card on them, call our free 24-hour call centre on 080 111 0215 to confirm the Child Dependant’s details.
Important Information
- If the beneficiary is admitted to hospital after the ER treatment, normal hospital benefits will apply.
- If the beneficiary needs emergency transport, call Netcare 911, the Scheme’s designated emergency transport service provider, 082911.
